Senna is a type of plant in the legume family. There are hundreds of kinds of senna worldwide, many of which grow in tropical regions. Senna is often used as a laxative, either through its pods or by steeping the leaves in herbal teas. Ginger, a spice made from the root of ginger plants that is known for its bold, punchy flavor, is also said to alleviate stomach discomforts, as are fennel and anise, both of which are said to help with stomach issues and gas.
