Our variable-temperature electric kettle is sure to make heating water a breeze. Its rapid boil system will have piping hot water ready for you in minutes at the touch of a button. Or, for more delicate teas, simply select the corresponding preset temperature on the stay-cool handle and wait for the beep to let you know its ready. Should you not be able to make your tea right away, don't worry, because the utiliTEA will keep your water at the set temperature for another 30 minutes then automatically shut off. It also features a 360 degree base for easy cordless pouring, a push-button lid, and hideaway storage for the power cord below the base. A must have for serious tea drinkers!

Made in China | 57 oz (1.7L) | UL STD 1082 | 6" diameter | 9.5" tall | Stainless Steel | Plastic elements are BPA-free | 1500 watts - only works with 110V/60 Hz electricity (North America) | 90 day warranty

Please note for high elevations: utiliTEA's auto shut-off feature will not activate for the 212 degree setting.

instructions

directions

Press "lid open" button and fill kettle with water. Be careful to not exceed the "max" marker. Set kettle on base, plug into outlet, and turn the switch on. It will illuminate indicating activity. Set the temperature dial to maximum position to produce boiling water for black tea. To make green tea, set the dial within the green range of color. Place at the beginning of the green range for the delicate Japanese teas and further along the range for the heartier Chinese teas. Ideal water temperature being subjective, let your taste buds guide you in selecting an optimal setting.

cleaning

Unplug the power cord and permit kettle to cool before cleaning it. Wipe outside with a soft damp cloth. Rinse inside with clean water. After extensive use, scale may build up inside. To remove, fill the kettle with vinegar and let soak overnight. Dispose of vinegar in the morning, fill with water and bring to boil. Pour water out and rinse thoroughly

What is the difference between the varieTEA and the utiliTEA kettles? They both have presets, same volume of 57oz., and stainless steel bodies. I’m trying to figure out why the $40 price premium for the varieTEA .

I’d like to get one for someone in Colorado but the warning about auto shut-off not working for 212 at high elevation worried me. Is there a risk it could boil dry? Is making black tea at high elevation with this kettle possible?
